Salesforce Web-To-Lead

  • Web-to-lead is very interesting as well as an important topic of salesforce when you want to generate leads from your website form, Right ?
  • In this episode, we are gonna talk about how exactly you can implement web to lead in Salesforce.
  • Web-to-lead means creating leads - with data - coming from a website page.
  • With web-to-lead, You can gather information from your company's website and automatically generate up to 500 new leads a day.

Concept :
  • On your company's website may already have registration or other types of page, where the user enters their contact information.
  • You may also want to create a jump page, where prospect responds to a campaign.
  • In web-to-lead with little extra HTML code, you can redirect that information to salesforce which creates a new lead in salesforce.
  • No need to change your website form design.
  • You just have to select the fields in your Salesforce Org like name, email, phone etc same as your website form fields.
  • Then Salesforce will generate an HTML form code for you.
  • You just have to copy and paste that code and replace it with your website form HTML code by mapping the website form fields with salesforce lead fields.
  • That's it !! no more hassle

Let's take a look at how to implement it -->
  • Open your Salesforce Org.
  • Go to Setup -->Customize -->Lead --> Web-to-Lead

  1. Hi Ajinkya that was pretty nice way to make things understand how web to lead works!. Just a small question, we need to map those fields before this code being executed in codebeautify right ?

    1. No, As you are pasting the code generated by salesforce it is already mapped while pasting in codebeutify, but the mapping which I have mentioned is about providing CSS to it and map it with the old existing fields by replacing this new code.
